KEYBOARD POUNDING MONKEYS STRIKE AGAIN! !!!!!

After spending 10 hours at the truck stop I head to the DC to pick up my load home only to be told "There is no load to Glendale, AZ, sorry."

THEN when the load is finally pulled off me my PTA gets blown out to 05/22 1000.

If they haven't found me a load home by the time THIS 10 hour break is over I'll drop the MT back in the same dirt lot I got it from and bobtail home.

Is it any wonder I want to park this thing and hand the keys back to IEL?

    Lady K Thanks this.

    Denver, CO on home time.

I got to the hotel to check on a room but they were all booked up. The desk clerk said they might have a smoking room tonight, but he couldn't make reservations.
He said check back after 8.
I went out to my truck to look for a room somewhere else, but there was nothing I could afford. There is a nurses convention in town and rooms are very scarce.

So I headed in at 8 and the Director of Operations came up to say hi and shake my hand. He asked if I was staying and I told him I would if I could get a room, and it seemed they were pretty full.
He told the girl to find me a room pronto. Actually, 2 rooms - one for the girls.
He has always greeted me, and he loves my girls. We have stayed here so often that he knows us all on sight.
The going room rate is $119 plus tax (Expedia), but with my CDL discount it came to $65 per night including tax. Not a bad deal.

at johnsons corner for the night. made it to walmart in loveland co with no issues but little rain.called my old dl when i was in aurora co getting fuel, and he called denver terminal and they said no problems so far. then he checked the weather map and said storm cell was west of me. so drove in and made delivery. clouds over denver were really dark. radio station reported standing water on the 70 east of 25 while i was at walmart. so i guess i just missed the heavy ain. be safe whoever is in the area

CNN is reporting a tornado touched down east of Aurora according to storm chasers. Swift is really good at putting out messages about the Jake Brake getting remodeled and Permits and Tolls training schedule all marked important but they absolutely suck at putting out much more important severe weather alerts. They talk up that Most Important Stop but fail to mention the MIS is actually where the BOL is signed, which gets them paid.

Exit 115 on I-39 here in IL. let me borrow Steves phrase, KEYBOARD POUNDING MONKEYS. Was sent a pplan. Now first this, I deliver at 1800 today. PPLAN was pu in Gary and take somewhere in MI for a live at 1730 for MOPAR and then over to Plymouth, MN for a drop. What is wrong with this picture. I am dropping at 1800 about 100 miles from Gary, and I have left 2 hours on myn day. Ten another pplan, DH 100 miles to Joilet to pu load to Brighton, MI. ot happening, then another, dh to Costco 98 miles and take to WI, 159 miles, then John Deere and take to Greeneville. Called and asked DM about what is going to get me home, and the answer nothing. Yes, there was some there that could have t-called in Columbus, but no, and it would have given me all of 1200 miles for the week. This is what happens every time that I get close to home for home time. Should have taken that load out of El Paso to Mira Loma for this morning, then they would have needed to get me home and would have been miles, but with my luck, would not have been any freight there. Always here about all of this fr8 up here, over boooked, until I get here, and then nothing.

And don't forget permits is in a meeting ... About 4 years ago, was talking with a friend of mine, who was with CRE and he got a weather alert that happened to be on the route I was going ... saved my butt, but not a peep from Swift about it.

That's been a pretty effective strategy for me ... head to the east coast and then put my mac 8 in for Cali .. dawdle a bit and then start screaming ... found if I can get to Texas or Chicago, I almost always get a straight shot in.

OH heading to Upstate for a Friday unload ... sweating getting something to run me over the holiday weekend.
