Hi Scalemaster, maybe a book would be in order, do people still write books? My sister's father-in law was in the hardware business for umpty nine years, and some of the stories he'd tell were priceless. In my 35 years of trucking, I've always treated scale personnel(and LEO's) with respect, and good manners and it always worked out. If I had it coming, I took it like a man. I observed the lunkheads and rabel rousers and they just made it worse for themselves, and couldn't figure it out. Thanks for your comments.70s_driver, last 1 and Balakov100 Thank this.

I agree Semi, I never had a bad experience with them either. They have a job to do just like I did. We both did our jobs so that's all that can be expected of us.
"semi" retired and last 1 Thank this. -
I just remember the girls name was Shelby I think. I thought it was in SC.

During my career in Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, I have ran into perhaps a couple dozen drivers who have threatened to call the "Federal Marshalls" on me. To my knowledge, only one actually had their number and called it. He handed me his phone and the Marshall on the other end said soething like "what in the hell is he calling me for?"
About 3 times, when I've stopped drivers to do an inspection, they have called 911. The last guy that called 911 on me did have the police arrive, but when they did, he was arrested."semi" retired Thanks this. -
HA, I'd like to hear the conversation between the driver and the 911 operator.

I still remember one time I made the mistake of sitting at the at the TA lunch counter, the driver next to me started explaining how he had read dictionaries when he was a kid, and because of that he knew how to defend himself in court and won every time, as well as he didn't need a bar exam to practice his own law.....
he went on to explain how DOT regs didn't have to be followed, because they were "only regulations, not laws" and CDLs were unconstitional because truck drivers "aren't actually driving, they are traveling, or "motivating on a public right of way".
I immediately paid my check, got back to the truck, checked to make sure my cdl and medical card were still in my wallet, and got as far away from that TA as my logs would allow. I have never sat at a lunch counter since then. At least that saves me from hearing about how jet contrails are actually mind control chemicals being sprayed by the illuminati.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
This guy is probably one of those who had the single page "it is against my 5th amendment rights to look at my log book" sheets years ago. It was full of the same kind of semantic BS lingo.
Always needed some extra toilet paper around here...NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
The other strange one I get from time to time are the Sovern Citizens. When I ask them for their log books, they will hand me a peice of paper (or sometimes a whole book) explaining why I am violating their constitutional rights. Just like children, I have them go stand in the corner for 10hrs of "time out."
NavigatorWife and Scalemaster Thank this. -
yeah sorry about that. those prescriptions had me doing funny things back then!
KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this.
