    Then don't read the thread.
I am writing this for me. And I keep the company to myself because I see so many that start a thread and are accused of being recruiters for that company.
I also keep it quiet to silence the haters, but it appears it doesn't matter what one does. A hater is gonna hate.
I find it amusing to see all the guesses and assumptions on who I'm with, that's also a factor. It's fun.

To be honest that was not my intention. Although to people I don't know I can come off as a jerk until I get to know them. I'm a bit guarded that way.

Now I wait for unload in Michigan. Then before my next load, I'm going to a shop to see about an air leak near my compressor. It drains my primary tank way too fast when the truck is off. Can't have that with a safety blitz, and I don't want it to lead to other, far worse problems. No worries for me, it's all paid for because I pay into my maint fund.

I read below a thread that is titled "how much per mile to make l/p worth it?"
Im not going to go on that thread and be all holier than thou on it , but honestly, in the end it doesn't matter. You can make 1.25cpm and be in the hole week one. Contrary, you can make 80cpm and make it. Cpm isn't the issue as much as self discipline, and consistency of freight. So long as you meet your break even point, you can do well. If you have all your numbers and don't know your break even point, don't sign anything.
And if you are only concerned with how much more money you will make, you are doing this for the wrong reasons.
For me, my end plan, my goal is to own the truck. I know the haters come out now and scream with pure passion that this isn't the way to do it. That a "real" o/o saves up 20k for a down payment on a "real" truck.
Thats all well and good, but when you have a successful marriage and 3 kids at home, 20k is hard to come by being a company driver.
This is my means to an end. My means. It's not your means, it's mine. Just because you wouldn't do an l/p agreement doesn't mean it's wrong or bad. Each person has to make their own bad decisions in life.
We do that, and we learn. I did. This the title of this thread.
No amount of naysaying or warning is going to convince someone bent on ownership to do anything else.
I just hope that when a new lp driver discovers that they aren't ready, there isn't a herd of people to shout "I told you so ". They feel bad enough. Encourage them, don't kick em when they are down so you can feel better about "being right".
