The ones that we have are mostly in the Hampton Roads (Norfolk, V Beach area). So far, easy in, easy out. Will have to see what the next 17 are like.

Yeah it ia but at least I can build up some longevity with the company in the mean while. Lots of older guys close to retiring also on the flip side

This wont be new information for Taipan but for others,Walmart drivers can live anywhere they want and work out of any DC thats private fleet operated. There are guys that fly across the country to work at the DC where they were hired. Most will eventually transfer out to a DC closer to home. Long commutes were a common practice when there were fewer DC's. Some guys dont like the area serviced by their local DC. Besides Buckeye drivers that run wild spend more time in Cali than they do in AZ.

Sometimes there are openings in less desirable locations (like Smyrna De or Pottsville Pa on the East Coast). Drivers will hire on to those locations and work a year there and then begin the process of trying to transfer to a dispatch that is closer to home. I know that there were drivers computing from NC to DE every week and then transferred first to Sutherland VA and then to Hope Mills or Shelby as they got an opportunity. Some think the job is just that good.
