Are you going to the DC convention center or Baltimore convention center?

I was at the mirage casino last month in Vegas picking up convention stuff going back to richmond. I've done about a half dozen over the years and that one was the easiest one ever.

Congratulations on the new job George. I will take this time here in our little world of Abilene to say what I need too. You have been given another chance to pursue your dream, make the best of it. We all know that the reason you were let go from Abilene was not just because of the fuel hose incident. This is not the place to discuss that, hopefully your new job at TransAm will have different results. We all here are hoping this is the case. Please, as I've said to you numerous times, watch all your surrounding every moment of your day, and don't force anything, after the fiasco you had at Abilene I'm hoping you learned something. I will be glad to help you in any way you need it, you need to ask. Good luck, and the first time you get a meat load to Hunts Point, call me, remember, nothing beats the wealth of information about that then what I have to offer. You're going to find a complete different environment in the freight your new company hauls compared to what you had at Abilene. Our freight was, at times pretty easy, and at the same time pretty difficult. Dealing with meat plants and big city deliveries is no picnic.

Good luck, be careful and ask for help if you need it.

JB has lots of experience with meat. Especially swinging meat. Pun definitely intended!!!!!
    sorry couldnt resist. Har har.
Hunts point is like the Wild West. Makes BH brooklyn look like a CDL school's backing/maneuvering cone set-up.

Yes it does, but when you grow up in the families produce business in the 60's and 70's there's some things you learn that is helpful to a lot of drivers.

    BigBrin Thanks this.

I promise, I will call you, Johnboy. We do deal with a lot of meat packers I am told. I realize this might be my last chance to stick in this industry. They do push leasing here, but won't consider it until I learn the company's way of doing things, the customers loading and unloading times. Definitely don't want to assume any more liability than I have to. They even tell you where to fuel and how much to put in based on your trip length and fuel gauge reading. Ok by me. One less decision I have to make. I believe the mistakes I made at Abilene won't be repeated here and that those mistakes were part of my education process. TransAm was the company I passed on my first trucking job out of school. I made the ill fated decision to try flatbed. Kinda glad to be here. We're giving each other a second chance. I need it to work out here for at least a year or two minimum. So Hunts Point is a zoo, huh? What have I gotten myself into? Deuces.

    jungHo and JohnBoy Thank this.
