Minster, OH - Dannon, arrived at like 0700 waited 26 hours before I could leave. It was my load home so I tried my best not to ##### too loudly.

Most brutal Walmart load was Alachua, FL. That DC took 13 hours to unload me. I was an hour early and good lord they took all #### day. Best part, "Per Walmart policy we keep all overages." Of course you do.

In most of these cases, what we have here is a failure to communicate! When things go wrong and if you drive long enough it well many times you have to:
let the powers that be know what is happening.
    get paid $$$$ for it.
then I try to play professional tourist and find something/place, fun/interesting to go. Then comeback when it is all better.
This took way too long for me to learn.

i just smile let them know oh well I am just going to make the best of it. You would be surprised at how much better things turn out,I know it surprised me. Money wise and turning lemons into lemonade type of thing.:biggrin_25520:

it will only change when drivers refuse the 50 bucks of detention pay and demand real pay for detention

WalMart in Gas City, IN 22.5 hours. Was 5 mins late after driving thru a ####### blizzard to get there. Was put at end of the line, no consideration of weather conditions, made us wait inside the building, couldn't be in truck. Time from check in to paperwork....12.5 hours....then because I have cpap and company forced me to use it or putting me out of service had to do full 10 hours to register on machine.

It took me 3 days-72 hours in fresno cali to get a turbine that was being dismantled, mean while they loaded my rgn with a turbine metal crate to hold it in place so I was stuck and could not go anywhere.
After having been empty and waiting on a load home for 3 days prior to this load I suck it up like a man and waited until the last day (saturday) at 5 pm my patience run out, I had them unload the metal bracket case and headed home 1900 miles empty.. smh..
That was with my former employer.

Couple weeks ago in Brewton, AL at a paper mill. Had an appointment for 04:00 on a Saturday morning for a JIT load running to Chicago for a live unload, then pick up another JIT load headed to Boston. Needless to say that Boston load went by the wayside...

... we finally pulled out at 05:30 on Sunday morning. But at least we didn't have the worst of it. Other drivers that finally got loaded ahead of us had been there up to 38 hours. All of us were dispatched for drop and hooks and all of us ended up with long live loads. The mill's paper wrapping machine had gone down at the same time as 1 of their 4 clamp lifts went down on a weekend. All the trailers that were supposed to be loaded and ready were empty in the yard and paper rolls were stacking up in the warehouse to the point that the poor clamp drivers were having to move 10 rolls to get to one they needed.

Think I ended up having a nice dinner on that detention pay. Burgers and fries.

2008.Houston,TX.During storm emergency my truck and o/o truck we both waited there (Houston airport) for 2 DAYS AND HALF to get unloaded. Our load was water and we were not allowed to leave the airport. By the way we were told it could take up to 3 days ,we spoke to few drivers there the night we arrived and they said they sitting there for 5 days already! o/o got paid $600 a day straight check from FIMA.I know it was real deal because my boss was one of them he gave me $500 and that was the relief for the pain.J/K. I don't know if I break the record on this page yet. But fellow drivers with over 5 days on their back most be the record holders for sure. One thing I never forget I have never seen so many trucks together not even in movies.

Excel Case Ready/Cargill in Hazleton is awful.

I also saw Beardstown in this thread...another noteworthy bad place.
