The flats are more economically viable i guess :D. I'll be picking up a pilot car in BC for getting through the mountains.

I'll be going through Sparwood Sunday afternoon on my way back up to Grande Prairie, AB. Got a load of steel building parts to deliver Tuesday morning.

Ha! we passed right by each other. That oversize load turned out pretty good for me. I got to run straight up and drop mid-day Saturday then deadhead straight back down south to drop and hook a preloaded kaiser load down south to get me ready for hometime. I earned myself another 100 bucks tracking my #'s as my permit routing was significantly different than the company routing and my dispatcher tried to pay me on the software routing. Sneaky :D lol.

I spent 2.5 hrs at the Canadian border, but that was partially my fault. I never sent the paperwork to my dispatcher because being over 2 months since my 1st crossing i had forgotten that step of the procedure. No big deal though. I got in contact with the broker and we started from scratch and got it handled pretty quick.

Rugerfan,How are you liking the new gig?

The #'s aren't doing very well. I was really hoping things would pick up with spring.

They seem to be getting worse though and the #'s with the new dispatcher are almost the lowest I've ever seen. Getting good experience with all this oversize stuff though so that's cool.

Hopefully things are going better for all you other guys as spring takes hold. No more ice storms for a bit will be nice :D.

I like it so far... They run pretty hard but I'll be home every weekend for a 34 so its not bad. I'm sure they aren't perfect but so far they tell me where to go load at then simply ask when I can deliver and go from there so I'll be curious to see how things go once I have been here awhile. Part of me really hated leaving System butI like the quick turnaround after a load here. I've yet to wait for a new load

I feel ya on the slow turnaround. I loaded out of the Kaiser on Bandini Yesterday then came to drop it here in Hayward this evening and i get here (less than 24 hrs from the time i picked up after slacking off hard) and they tell me that i can't unload until tomorrow because i don't have an appointment and appointments need to be made 24 hours in advance... I loaded 22 hours ago less than 400 miles away... WTF over LOL.

So then they told me that i can't park here overnight even though there is tons of room where i would be out of the way and the nearest truck parking is 60 miles away so i just found a spot in a corner and closed the curtains and put my head phones on. Tow truck hasn't hooked up to me so i guess it's alright.

I'm not stressing it though, I'll get home on time instead of early now and because i'm coming into the yard early Friday i'll have all Friday off plus the other 5 days so make lemonade ya know :D.

Post up some periodical updates if you don't mind. I'm certainly curious to see if the grass is really greener on the other side being that this is my first trucking gig and all.

My buddy that swapped trailers with you is dieing to know. Did you quit because of that POS trailer???

He says he doesn't blame you if that's the case LOL

Ah,yes Systems is not the right place for any kind of consistency. TWT might have been better for that though. Who are you running with now if you don't mind me asking?
