I dont come in much but I want to help Wickedfire77 ! Lack of knowledge is a crictical downfall to ones success, I was that one that was scared to try it but it was my dream and I wasnt blessed with money to just go buy or put down on a truck. Listening to people who deferred me away from it told me all bad ! I have met a couple people who actually completed their perspective programs and are doing just fine! "dont knock something till you try it " I just hope I can inspire some people to accomplish their dream of becoming an o/o and dont be frightened off by nay-sayers
-god bless you all

I don't have any entertainment in my truck except a small DVD player and my iPhone. No microwave or fridge. No tv .
So if I happen to go catch a movie at a theater that I can park at, doesn't mean I'm an unsuccessful loser. It means I like captain America 2.Jarhed1964, Marky84, OtatKen and 2 others Thank this. -
Good for you EAGLEMAN keep it going

I just enjoy how Marvel keeps the continuity intact from (Chronologically story wise) Hulk to Cap 2. And a TV series to tie it all up. (I watch it on demand when home)
i saw Amazing Spider-Man 2, and thought he was way too Emo for me. Never watch Amazing Spider-Man part 1. That's my geek rant. Now I'm off to plan for my next D&D (3.5) session I run. LolJarhed1964 and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this. -
Technology can be your enemy. Do not rely on your gps or google maps on your iPhone. Spend the cash and buy a good large scale motor carrier map book. I need to buy an updated one myself. Mine only shows I69 in Indiana from Indy to port Huron Michigan. I never knew it went all the way down Indiana now! Exit numbers threw me off one day.
Not to mention a map will show you restricted roads and scales. A GPS will send you to places you do not want to go, and SHOULD NOT go.
Not every place is truck friendly. It's getting more and more rare to see a smile when you pull in . Luckily, there is Walmart. 95% of the time they won't bother you for parking overnightJarhed1964, Ketchikan baby, SheepDog and 1 other person Thank this. -
amen brother, you said it all, its your means to an end and not someone elses. I think with the attitude and outlook on life you seem to have , you have 3/4 of the battle won already.
I lot of whats lacking in either l/p or even straight out buying one, is the lack of drive or "want to " as I call it.
there are also a good many who fail when they buy one with a 20k down payment also.Jarhed1964, Colt seavers, blacklabel and 3 others Thank this. -
Jarhed1964 Thanks this.

On a weekend when many are either home or stuck with no load that can deliver until Tuesday, I'm going to run my butt off ! Getting a Walmart flower load with 13 stops and nice paid miles all the way around. Going to be a busy weekend. Enjoy yours when you get there!
Jarhed1964, kimbosa and -EAGLEMAN Thank this. -
