Ok so survived a week with a trainer out on the road...wasn't to bad music sucked but hey it's his truck!, one week of class back at the OC then BOOM I get a brand new CENTURY with 522,000 miles, and damaged batwings!..But I really don't care, cleaned the windows ran her through the wash did a thorough PTI she runs great and the engine looks brand new! I got a new mattress and picked up some extra padding and off on my first solo run...it's really liberating to be out on the road with your thoughts...
Heading out to AL already got a pre sending back to SC a 600 mile run, that'll be 1000 in my first 3 days!!...lol..hope it keeps up I haven't had a decent paycheck in months!
My girl cried when I left....I think she sees lot lizards crawling all over my truck and stuff... the internet can be a good thing but can really suck, she went online to look up trucking wives etc and all she got was females ranting about cheating truckers.
I hope to be doing this for a long while so I pray she comes to terms and keeps the faith and trust we've built over the years...
Be safe all!91B20H8 and Trish in SC Thank this. -
Take her with you sometimes and show her what you do so she understands it better.

Hey guys, I'm hopefully going to start CDL school soon and i been researching multiple companies. I was wondering if someone could tell me what's the orientation pay with Schneider ? And starting cpm for a new driver plus the average amount of miles that Schneider might give you ? I'm aware there are bad weeks and really good weeks when it comes to miles so just the average. Thank you for your time

When I went through seems like it was $80 per day for 3weeks and you'll start @.27-.29 per mile. Plan on 1500-2000 miles per week till you figure out the trip planning. It's low pay to start but I think its industry wide. SNI has bookoo freight and truthfully its one of the better starter companies. And no, I'm not a recruiter, just a booger eatin steering wheel holding seat warmer.

Yea that's the plan as soon as I get the 6 months out the way..

This is my second day with freight and I'm already up to 1000 miles with a Pre for another 800 tomorrow...my worry is running out my DOT clock...and this is Monday!...so I figure by the end of this week I should have some decent miles.
I understand the low starting pay and I don't mind!..I figure everybody pretty much goes through the same starting out..no accidents, on time deliveries and pay goes right up after 90 days... -
If you run out of 70 your 1st week be careful but enjoy those miles. Don't get into to much of a rush, you will be mentally exhausted, and that's when mistakes can happen
TennMan and kamtrucker Thank this. -
Many thanks for that piece of advice....i actually took it!!!..LOL...funny how things work out when you listen!!
Anyways...I was out on my run and I had this extra pickup ..the lady was all gushing about it was up to me to decide to do it or not..I was running a 400 mile run this would be a extra 100k on a easy saturday..so I wasn't bothered about it and said as much but she said it was a big deal..so I went to get it
long story short...everything is loaded and the DOOR won't close!.
I faught with it every which way..but NO!
So what to do...i'm in some hick town in PA..call theb dbl line they say call the SEM line...
then I notice something!!!..the doors don't line up !!..
turns out coz i was backed in at a angle the trailer was arched and the hooks weren't lined up.
I had to straighten out the trailer to line up the hooks to close the trailer...
took me a minute to figure it out as well as agonising calls...this is what experience teaches that you can't get in a classroom91B20H8 Thanks this. -
Hence take your time .....look at the problem....figure out a solution...Again many thanks and to all that aspire it is excellent advice ....never rush!!! that's when mistakes happen!!!
91B20H8 Thanks this.
