not too sure but I know we have a lady who lives out of Visalia, we have an O/O who lives in the LA area and I live a hour away, other than that not too sure. You can always look into it though.

on the O/O subject...I still go back and forth if I want to take the plunge, might look into the idea a bit further once I get underway with the Vegas fleet. I know all 4 of the O/O's on our fleet were quick to volunteer for these runs since the miles will be there for sure. Of course the site manager will have to be willing to take another o/o as well even if I wanted to. I have researched and talked with people for over a year now but its still a big step to decide on and I have to KNOW that im ready. I refuse to be another o/o failure.

Not sure I want to get into another fleet situation, but thanks for the input. I'm waiting for someone to take over my team spot on this truck so I can get scheduled for mentor orientation.

Last night I ran from east Colorado to Richland, UT. Snowing hard at the Eisenhower with temperatures hovering around freezing. Pretty slick up there, had to get creative with the downhill runs from Eisenhower and Vail to keep traction.

Raining heavy the whole way from Denver to the Utah border. With the ruts in the road from chaining the water was pooling and hydroplaning was a real problem. I had to maintain at least 10 mph slower than normal until I got to Rifle, then the rain started to let up a little.

Stay safe out there. Snow happens.

Wolfy, you are making the right decision. Waiting for now. I will say this though, CA to Vegas, your fuel will need to be watched. You are going heavy and you have a lot of pulling to get to Vegas. You might be able to count on about 7mpg getting there, but better getting back. Your break even should be about 1200-1300 miles. After that your only expenses will be fuel and your maintence escrow at what you set it at. I am happy with my 2800 miles per week. I think that you will also have to look at what they are going to pay a L/O as far as stop pay. I know that when I did Wal-mart out of Moberly, even though onky surge, they wanted to pay my stop pay at the account pay, $15/stop, not my OTR rate.

That is good to hear. Was with another O/O the other day and he was telling me that he was at a location and called Command and was offered a load that paid $1.35/mi. With him was another driver from a different company that also uses them, so he called in, the same load, $2.00/mi.

Home Sweet Home, for at least 4 nights. This morning I knew that I was tired. For the 2nd time in a week, did not know where I was. I know that it is time that I come out of the truck for some serious time off. In 3 years, other than short hometime or when broke down, have not been out of this truck. Today receive a message, PTA changed. My PTA was 0900 on the 29th, and they tried to change it, 0800 on the 27th. No, not going to happen.

I was repositioned down here from Denver.
I got to the terminal, did the macs, then headed out for the Flying J.
I had to argue to get out the gate. The guy had a very hard problem with why I wanted to leave the yard when I didn't have a load.
Sorry, but the food and coffee are better here.
