Say hello to Mr. Walker for me!

At the Flying J in Joplin a few miles from the Petro. Sent in a QC message to let them know I would be dropping the load tomorrow and was told that I can't drop it off until Wednesday. We are not amused.

Back at the Jurupa Valley terminal to take a 34. Not going home this time, just going to chill. Have a fully stocked cooler.
This was a good week, ran to Orlando, FL area; then up to Evanston, IN; then to Las Vegas and straight back to JV. We already have a dispatch set up for Tuesday morning headed to Pittston, MA.
Heard that in order to help the TJ Maxx dedicated account they are now assigning night and weekend dispatch to Phoenix. If this is true then it seems that we are already experiencing the benefits of it. Normally we would have had a difficult time getting that Las Vegas to JV load and certainly wouldn't have been dispatched already to Massachussets. It's nice having those loads stacked on us.
Still waiting for someone to step up to teaming on this account so I can get off the truck and become a trainer. For anyone out of JV that is interested send me a PM. You are given the same $/mile you currently have, but the average miles are more than if you are solo. My paycheck, compared to when I was solo, is about 15-20% greater. -
What was the scheduled drop date ... if it is tomorrow and they now want Wednesday, then ask them where they want the load tcalled ... You're not asking if, that is a given, you just need to know where?
-
Drop is scheduled for 05/28, they were shocked that I made it to Joplin from Laredo in less than two days. Had I known I couldn't drop on arrival I wouldn't have taken the load.
-
Your screwed and stuck with it....that's maybe 30 hours max to do that.....u accepted it without changing load times via Mac 9 right? Live and learn.....
-
Oh if u sent via Qualcomm that's weekend dispatch axx monkeys...hehe....they love to say no coz it's way easier to refuse u then help u...coz weekend csr sucks too......as well as planning....call the customer or just go there....never listen to the weekend monkeys.....drop it and set your PTA....if customer had a problem play dumb...if they refuse it ...well?

I will keep this in mind and see how the runs go as a company driver first as well, I also know the manager said these stores are not high volume so they COULD be lighter loads but that I wont know for sure. I know some of the lower volume stores are a lot lighter around here, some less than 20k at times.
I will also have to keep in mind summer is here which means idling and fuel cost there as well, I do not idle a lot but if its too warm to sleep then you better believe its on. Usually I fire up the truck when its 80+ and im parked in direct sun, of course that dessert is more like 100+ and 80 at night.
Finishing up a break at the rest area outside of Visalia, I got an early load that cut at 7am and had to be delivered by 1700, well I had to be out of city limits by then so will be shutting down early tonight unless I can grab a short load with my final 3.5 hours I will have.
