can someone give me more info on Trican? my husband was offered a job at Trican and was told he would be starting with fracing and everyone there starts the same no matter on experience. just wondering what the pay could roughly be over the course of a month, how often they pay, what are the benefits like? are people happy there? how easy is it to move up? he was also offered another job and really not sure which one would be the better choice. Thanks

Worked at trican with the cementing crew. Pay is the 15th and end of month and compared to other well servicing companies at the time, they had the best benifits in the industry. Only the branch can tell him what his pay is, was he not told?

Yes, he was told that base would be $3800 a month plus bonuses, so just not sure how much that could equal out to a month. so were the benefits above 80%? Can I ask why you left? just trying to find out as much as possible before making a choice. The other job is hauling sand.

Most companies pay you on the 15 and the end of the month. Your hubby will be a trainee and should make a training bonus for jobs instead of a %bonus on the job. Training bonus is paid regularly. When he is on job bonus, sometimes you have to wait for the bill to be paid. Because there can be discrepancy on the billing, sometimes a company will ask for a better bill or more discount. Most of the time job bonus is paid up to month or 2 behind. Like eg Trican wont pay you bonus till they get paid then it goes through payroll. On the other note FRAC is huge money if your hubby can bust his ### and learn fast. He will be treated like a worm until he earns the respect of his crew and is able to help his crew instead of slow them down. New guys are like deer in the head lights, at first they want you to learn to drive #1 if he does not know how. #2 Learn all of the rigging in process. Those are the big 2, like i say first if he can haul out equipment by himself then he has a tiny use. Once he can rig in with everyone and maintain and run a pump, he becomes useful and should be recommended for a promotion.
