We had a few of those in the 80's, my grandpa drove one. They just aren't feasible here anymore.

 

In Houston mixer drivers make 12 to 14 dollars/hr. Endless supply of cheap labor here.

 

Hi bigjoel, that's terrible, mixer driving is the toughest thing there is. No wonder they're rolling them over left and right. BTW, love your signature pic there, although, that movie didn't help the image for truck drivers.

 

Yea mixers can be dangerous. Right turns more so than left as the drums spins clockwise while not in discharge mode which makes your load ride higher on the left side. All trucks are dangerous. Take your time and use your common sense and you will be fine.

 

Concrete isn't that bad when it's hauled in a dump truck
