As a follow up, I found this information useful when I was bringing my wife into the country: (http://www.myvisasource.com/services/permanent-residence/canadian-spousal-sponsorship/). As long as you don't have a criminal record, aren't too old and are employable, you should be fine.
Looking for Canadian company that hires foreign drivers.

McConnell Transport in Jacksonville, NB hires non-Canadians. They had a handful of German, English, Scottish and Romanians working there. At least 1 of them became a Canadian citizen while in their employ, and another has been here for several years (doesn't sound like a "temporary" foreign worker, although to be honest, I can't even understand some of the nuances of immigrating [or coming to work] here.)
Scotian Distribution Services in Dartmouth, NS has a few Eastern Europeans and Caribbeans working there, again I'm not really clear which immigration program they followed to be hired on.
Easson's in Berwick, NS is under investigation for misusing (legal speak for abusing) the TFW. Depending on your planned avenue of entrance, it's entirely likely you could be hired on there when this whole TFW flap blows over and we all forget about it.
There's lots of heresy about it, but I do know beyond a doubt that these companies don't have a problem hiring people who are here legally to work from elsewhere.
Best of luck, hopefully you are successful. I can't stand the idea that "affluenza" is rampant here and there are 2 standards: the wealthy and the cattle, but it sadly seems to be so. -
Oh great.....lets start a section for temp. foreign workers.....that will guarantee cheap pay rates for the next ten years.

As far as I am concerned, hard workers from around the world form the basis of our current national identity. I don't have a problem with enterprising folks from around the globe coming to our vast land to make an honest living, just as my Scottish, English and French ancestors who landed here in search of land and opportunity did so many generations here.
I'm not about to kick the ladder out from others after I benefitted from climbing the ladder myself. It's also wrong to scapegoat immigrants for policies that were created right here at home by our very own political parties. Blame them, not the folks trying to make a better life for their families the same way mine (and probably yours) did.dunchues, kate8kate0, Grey Dodge and 5 others Thank this. -
TexasTailTwister Thanks this.

You can't blame people for wanting to better there lives and if there hard working more the better.

I think we should be empowering people in all business ventures, instead of policies that help corporations who have the means to help themselves.
Small businesses have always been the backbone of the Canadian economy, not multi-billionaire multi-nationals. The workers are not the enemy in this fight to preserve our once-great nation.
(On a side note - Poland has a far superior education system to our own. Education isn't for sale, only the most academically gifted individuals are admitted and there is no cost to the student. Rich people can't buy their kid a placement in a degree program like here in Canada which fosters a true meritocracy instead of the corrupt nepotism we are beginning to see the wealthiest people in our country perpetrating.) -
