    Why not?
You can permit the trl. mty and out with a ld. or vice versus.
I ran a TrailKing with a 29' well and a flip. I was able to get a permit for it and the Kingpin law.

CA won't like the flip down but it being a long well, 33' Right?,
They will permit the trailer if "the load justifies it " by telling them the load requires the extra well length. Then they must allow you by rule to haul a non conforming load out or run empty. Some where at home I have the published rule.

    BigJls1 and perufb Thank this.

I had the flip down. I know you have to apply for the lded. permit first and then apply for the mty. permit to move the trl in or out.
Not sure the loop hole we used, but got it done.

Just depends on who issues the permit, I have received a permit for my old trailer with the flip down but had written in it that the flip had to be up after unloading. That was the time Air Force at Travis ripped off the steel brackets and cost me $700 to fix

one time called the permit office and they asked how long the actual piece was, I asked why? well CA will permit the 54' trailer (without the flip down) IF the load deems it required to have a trailer that long. we may or may not have sneaked in to herlong a time or too..maybe :biggrin_25525:.

this year we took CA off ifta and moved on! we aint going back.

That trailer is awesome and would service 99% of my needs but being as I'm based in Kalifornia I'd have a hard time getting a single trip permit for small wide loads and would have no hope in getting an annual permit.
I do like living in CA, I just hate how we have to live here sometimes! :banghead:

    Big Don Thanks this.
