Yep, saw it and I appreciate the response, but it wasn't exactly what I had in mind. I'm looking for an a la carte list off what they pay you for. I'm sure somebody around here keeps a list.
I like to know what I'm getting paid for. If the company won't tell me, I try find people that work there that can fill me in. Thanks. -

The reason for no APU's is a simple mathematical equation. It relates directly to ROI. In the lifespan of a company truck ~5 years, the initial cost of the APU and the maintenance costs over those years, do not equate to a positive number in gallons of fuel saved. Therefore, an APU would generate a loss which would come directly off the bottom line. So the good folks that sleep in an air conditioned house every night do not see any potential money to put in their pockets. This is why SNI has not ponied up and put APU's on their equipment.

I'll add the reason of "drivers don't take care of them so they break down too often" reason to the above. It's a reason why Roehl has moved away from diesel apus.mickimause Thanks this.

I'd second the drivers not taking care of them. we've all either cleaned out a nasty company truck, refused a nasty company truck or read about some one who got a nasty company truc at one time or another so I'd only imagine what a nasty, selfish, disgusting, no bath taking smells like a 5 year old ash tray poop pants driver's apu would be like....

38% is a tad high, until you look at the region you're running in. I was in Atlanta today and had to sweep out a trailer plus get a half dozen of the 2x4 bracing holders off the wall. I sweated so much I needed a complete change of clothes afterwards.
If your OPs manager gives you any more issues over the idle you can tell him the OFFICIAL WORD from the VPs of VTL is "do what you can to reduce unnecessary idling but if you need to run the truck". I got that direct from the horse's mouth with President of Van Truck Load Dave Giser (sp?) sitting not 4 feet from me.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Schneider only really cares about three things (in order of importance):
1) Run SAFE
2) Run legal
3) Be where you say you're going to be, when you say you're going to be there.

Call the Recruiter again and try to get her to send you an email with that information on it so that you have it in writing and THEN CALL THE TERMINAL YOU ARE GOING TO WORK AT and get the same information from them and compare notes. I got two different pay scales just on my mileage pay from both of them, when I was checking out Bulk

I was told that just because the truck will idle below 10 and above 80 doesn't mean it doesn't count... If it is over 80 degrees and you idle it does count towards idle.
