he does have over 10 years experience with his AZ, but will be new at fracing. Thanks for letting me know about the training bonus, how long would that last? The recruiter had said something about 80 000 a year for the first year, don't know if he meant gross or net, does that sound about right?

If he moves up yes very easy and should be gross. I am not sure about Trican's bonus rates. They have to pay close to the rest or they lose employees, When he gets real bonus coming in it should be the majority part of his pay. But do not live of his combined earnings. Bonus is just a Bonus and a slow month can be a big hicup in money coming in next month. Also the spring can be slow if break up is long and no bonus comes in at all.
Once on the pay bonus in frac, Good jobs can be 1000+ bonus day or a small job bonus of 75-150 for the day. But salary is always the same and comes in the same. why I say learn to live best you can off the salary and save up the bonus for slow times.
Most companies have good benefit plans, but you have to opt in at how much you extra you want to pay for like better disability insurance, Dental coverage, medication coverage ect. Most pay the majority but you will have to look at the option packages. At Slb they start you off at contributing 2% into your pension plan and then if you you choose how much you put in as a extra. Like I put the max 5% of my gross in to my pension, and by doing that SLB matched my input by 3%. For a total of 10% earnings towards my pension. They also had rrsp plans as well and discount stock purchase plans. I should have joined the stock options, because they gave you a 5% discount once a year. And it was 5% discount towards the lowest the stock price in the year before. You could not lose it was a guaranteed 5% return. The bad is you can only buy stocks with your allowed % of your earnings that are deducted every payday and held until your buy day. Ps all have different ways to improve benifits and are flexible. -
Also If Your husband thinks he is in just another trucking job, He is in for a big shock. Driving a truck is just a requirement of working on a frac crew. He will be working like a dog, packing iron and having to beat it together with a sledge hammer.
northboundhound Thanks this. -

Driving is just 5% of well servicing/frac work. It's just a starting point, a prerequisite, an entry level requirement for anyone above green hand. Good start though. Listen and learn, be eager and keen, reliable, be safe, use uncommon sense, move up quickly. -
Frac is a great job, but if rapid career advancement is a major consideration, you might want to consider something else, such as cementing or coil tubing.
Frac crews are large, and, tend to be a populated by a lot of very experienced guys combined with a lot of very inexperienced guys. It will take years to get to the level of experience where your hubby is a serious contender for career advancement to a leadership position. (Unless you consider lateral moves to different pieces of frac equipment to be career advancement. IMHO, going from pumps to N2 doesnt really count as career advancement. Youre just learning a different aspect of the job.)
Cementing and coil tubing have smaller crews and therefore a better chance for rapid career advancement if youre good. In cementing, there is higher turnover, due to the highly irregular hours of the work. Also, its my understanding that cementing doesnt pay as well as frac. -
The hours were terrible. Up all night and try sleeping during the day. That's cementing though. There was alot of political bs going on and I'm too darned old to put up with it,

No one there seems to know what's the aprox MINIMUM pay to a driver per load... There hauling from wells and batteries, can anyone let me know if they have any clue what the MINIMUM I can expect to take home a load?? I know there's lots of factors to consider but can I expect $20 a load $50 a load or $2 a load??
