Am fm ssb 11 metre band ,not interested in the bells whistles echo , just something clean audio some extra power if needed digital readout I currently own a 2950 dx but it lacks power 25 watts ssb 10 watts am .has great audio with basic mike any drivers using a 2970 n2 what are the reports on that radio ? I'm also guessing it would need to be wired straight to the battery's .would running that type of radio be a good option for a high power multi mode ..

General Lee's have some of the best audio out there, of the Export Radio's and have been around for years...Not too complicated to operate while driving, and not a bunch of little buttons to push like the 2950's have...AM only tho, no SSB.

I think the Gen Lee is the best "trucking radio" out there.......and I wish I had one.....my Connex 3300HP is really good too. Just takes two moves to go to the low side of 19 instead of one like on the Gen Lee.

I run a General HP40W, again no SSB but is pretty plain jane. Only thing I would suggest is getting a good SWR meter to go with it.
