because it is the same until that big hill
the truckstops are usually full inside the city
but i guess it depends where your going and route your taking to get there

i would park at exit 295 before Denver at the Tomahawk

Actually, once you get east of DIA your in Kansas, west of that is still Colorado. Oh and it's supposed to snow in the Mountains this weekend and it'll be 92 in Denver.

 

Take enough money for fuel to deadhead out of there to go get a load that pays enough to not go broke hauling it for nothing .
Colorado is a freight black hole lots going in cheap as dirt coming out .

 

I'm a Colorado native. I don't have a CDL yet, so I can't say anything as far as that goes, but weather wise, it's been more complicated than the past few years. We've had some tornadoes actually touch down in the Denver metro area, minimal damage, they were out on the outskirts of the city, and they weren't particularly strong, but I've never seen that in my time here. However, if you're heading east of Denver towards either Nebraska or Kansas, it's that time of year where the conditions are perfect. Don't expect too much snow, yeah the passes will be getting a bit, but it shouldn't be too bad. Our highest peak where I live has been snow capped for awhile, but it's looking more brown than white. Overall, it should be a pleasant trip.

 

There have always been tornados touching down out where the last batch happened... near the airport. In fact we had one at S. Broadway and Evans Ave, and another rip through southern Thornton. Nothing unusual about the weather yet, especially in May.

 

Last load I took in I deadheaded out. Time before that got a load of new Belgium beer.

 

Scales... not too terrible. The scale operators aren't inspectors, although motor carrier does sit in them and pick out randoms for Level IIs at times. They're not too terrible here.
Truck stops... where in Colorado are you going to or what roads are you running? I mean, if you're just running I25, there's really nothing to worry about, except these idiots who get mesmerized by the construction from northern Co. Springs to Monument, then they wreck and somehow end up getting traffic tied up from Monument all the way to Castle Rock.
Avoid the toll roads... they'll milk the living #### out of you.
Are you delivering in Colorado? If so, where? Are you pulling any kind of open deck trailer? Let me know if you do.. it's not a good place to be for open deck loads, but I do know someone who does the brokerage for Siemens A.G. loads out of Colorado Springs. They might be able to help you out. Don't know if they offer anything as far as van loads, but it can't hurt to try?
