I prefer cascadia. Detroit dd15 is way better than mx or isx15. I drove the cascadias. They are smooth. You can install a visor and t680 nothing. The mx have problems with parts cost. Detroit, they can go further and have less problems than cummins and paccar. Cascadia will be also available as gliders and u can put a 12.7 detroit.

I recommend you go to your local dealership and drive both. I have driven the 2007 and the 2013 casscadias and now a 2014 prostar as a company driver. I decided to lease a new truck and wanted to drive a few 2015 models before making my decision. Opinions on here helped me a little but behind the wheel time was what made my mind up. I first thought the new EVO would be the best choice until I heard how nice the Volvo 780 was with the idrive. The t680 had good reviews as well. I drove all 3 and to me, the 680 was by far the best in all categories. Fit and finish, smooth ride and build quality. A lot of people on here will give you their ideas of what they think is best while they have never been behind the wheel. Do yourself a favor and drive every make and model you are interested in before making your decision. EVO 7/10. Volvo 780 7.5/10. T680 9/10. Prostar 7/10

I wouldn't decide with but i would focus more on engines in those trucks.

From my perspective (kenworth mechanic) I prefer the 680. It's far easier to access the rear half of the engine than the cascadia, which can play a big factor in repair time. I have spent some time in both however and the cascadia is not a bad drive either, I have no experience with the DD15... cummins has their issues, don't I know. Paccar MX engines are on the upswing though, we don't see them like we used to. It's no 660 but the 680 is shaping up to be a nice truck. I don't put thousands of miles on them, but spend lots of hours getting to know them none the less...
celery425 and Battle Born Thank this. -
Would be better with a visor. Paccar got expensive parts. The detroit dd15, i heard one truck getting 700k miles with no problems.
celery425 Thanks this. -
Kenworth all the way and the only problem i had with a cummins was egr related and only once and it will outpull a detriot without hardly trying.

I have no dealings with the Cascadia, but the T680s still have some bugs to be worked out. Been dealing with a fair number of electrical issues, as well as prematurely blown wheel seals (150k or less) - in some cases, even requiring the spindle to replaced. True enough that it's still under warranty, but downtime is downtime.
Don't know if the Cascadia fares any better.. rumor is that we're getting some, but I've yet to see one. I've only seen one truck with the newer MX engine, and that only had 34k on it... the driver liked it, in spite of the 3.36 rears, but 34k is a bit premature to make a judgment on.celery425 Thanks this. -
Cascadia is available as a glider, but doesn't have a wiring harness for an s60 motor.celery425 Thanks this.

The kustomtruck worked on it and they made the harness for s60 12.7 detroit. Their quote
We've supplied multiple harness packages to Fitz as well as HTC to build Cascadia Gliders with DDEC IV. The DDEC IV is the only platform that is currently available for the Cascadia. The CAT and Cummins engine harness choices for the Cascadia have already been designed and currently in prototyping. By the 4th Quarter of this year you will see both Fitzgerald as well as HTC producing a lot of Cascadia Gliders.celery425 Thanks this.
