Yes it is, if your disciplined. Forget the fancy cars and expensive toys and focus on retirement. What's your retirement goal; fishing, hunting, laying on the beach in some exotic place with palm trees and a beauty massaging you? Stay focused.

Wish I had known this when I started driving. Wasted lots of money over the years, wine-women-song-alimony, but still reached my goal of a comfortable retirement; beautiful home in Henderson, NV 10 minutes from the Las Vegas strip and another in the Orient.

The thing is, you can do much better than what I did. About those 401K's, don't panic and sell if the stock market drops. You haven't lost anything unless you sell. When the stock market drops, buy while stocks are low.

 

For new drivers just starting I would say TMC is about the best paying for annual pay.
System Transport is also at the top of the list & they have a terminal in Gary.
Melton Truck Lines is also high quality company with excellent healthcare for driver & family.
I really like TMC's stock and 401K program though.

 

At TMC if you work hard enough you can Essen more than veterans. Performance based pay. Plus if you get your Twic and such it helps.

Its years....decades of hard work, but it is possible to attain for anyone with the right work ethic.

TMC is as good as it gets for companies that will actually hire a student. That is considering you can do flat bed. Pulling a flat bed is not for everyone.
