Hello there, My name is Merry and I'm interested in becoming a truck driver. I have been looking into it for a while now and I figured the best way to learn new information about companies and pro's/con's about being a Female truck driver would best be served coming from actual truck drivers.

We all know that what a company puts on their websites or what is told from the receptionist isn't always exactly the truth, so I figured I would ask.

I'm 23, and my husband is in the Army when he gets out he plans on becoming a trucker as well. He has another year n a half. I've noticed a large amount of truckers are retired veterans which I think is great.

Trucking runs in my family, but it's only men that have done it thus far. I'm hoping to get a female point of view if possible or hear about things that can/have happen as well.

    Any information is welcome!

    Ukumfe Thanks this.

The section under this one. A Discussion About Everything. There is a sub forum in there titled The Ladies Room. That would be the best place to ask the ladies in trucking! :biggrin_25519:

Welcome to the forum Merry. When your husband gets out you can be his trainer, lol.Just because you're a female you can do anything men can do pertaining to this profession. You'll feel like its overwhelming at first only because you're new,but it does get better believe me.More and more women are joining the trucking industry. Not so much locally though.Every local job I get its all guys except me.
