Yes the old "mud flaps are sailing" stop.... Meanwhile the four wheeler traffic cruises by at a mere 90MPH and they're not being stopped. Chicken S! Complete and utter chicken s! Like the guy in Patagonia that pulled me over and said the license plate light on the trailer wasn't visible from 50 ft back.. I wanted to ask him if he had a tape measurer but didn't want to press my luck that night; after all, they are the ones with the authority, no matter how absurd that is. Illegitimate, that's how I view them.

Wow, I think you would have had him by the balls with that one!!!! I would have had to press my luck on that one... Your trailer has a license plate light and he still isn't satisfied... Crazy... Did you get any violations for anything?

No violations, just a verbal warning......The area I was in is notorious for DOT; In fact, when I came up to the area I made sure I was going the speed limit but it didn't matter.....Here comes Mr. illegitimate with his lights on..I'm usually pretty good at reading people. this guy was just asking me to give him a hard time, that's why I didn't.

I'll give you an example. One trip i was running out with a new hand who had his wife with him, he did not have chickens, but he had a bill of laden for a load of chickens. Before getting to the scales we stopped & started him refer unit. And I told him exactly what to do. Put a 20 dollar bill with him New Mexico card & hand it to the scale hand when he pulled on, but he did not, & the scale man when to the back of his trailer & looked inside! Them motioned for him to pull over & come in.

After i saw what happen, I crossed the scales first, I pulled over & it took me a bit to get into the scale house. He was talking to the scale man, I asked the scale man could I have a word with him just for a moment. Of course the scale man knew what I was going to tell him.

I told him, to get though here you must do this. When you go back up there tell him you need to go to the restroom. leave a $20.00 bill on the commode, he will enter the restroom as you walk out, them he will come back to the desk, hand you your paper work, & we will leave.

That time he did it, & very shortly we were pulling out. Several moths after that it got stopped, they cleaned house at the scales. Yet it was not long before all was well, & it was back to normal. After we hit Arizona he was legal from there on out.

Many a twenty dollar bill was handed out, & many a loads when right on down the highway afterwards.

Still does, it's just sent to PrePass rather than handed to the officer.

What's the glory in being a dot officer anyways? Police academy rejects? ###### couldn't run the 1.5 mile test under 15 min?

Funny, last time I got pulled behind a scale house was in Missouri, just a quick level 2, had a new officer they were training, once they saw I had the good ole' e-logs, they didn't even look at those. I wound up getting a clean report and a little bit extra money on my paycheck for keeping my #### straight.
