Sounds like you are a valuable asset to your company. Do you think that corporate big-wigs give a flying #### that they will loose good drivers like you because of a decision they all make at a board meeting? For the most part they view every employee as an expendable asset. Its a sad but true part of major corporations decision making process. Even if you had been there 20 yrs. with a perfect record and are in great standing with your supervisors.
I' ve seen this type of thing before and not just in the trucking industry...

SADLY and UNFORTUNATELY, many drivers who feel the same way as you feel, will NOT say or do something about it. They will endure the misery, only because they will feel "trapped" with no where else to go. Those drivers often have serious financial obligations as family, or child support if they are divorced. It is a "Catch-22" situation for many of these drivers.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.! -

If they could, they'd kill us all, sell our organs on the black market, and replace us with robots.nofreetime Thanks this. -
I think the "large majority" is more accurate...

That is what I would do..If treated as a child-may as well act like one.
Many of us are "getting out" cause of all this B.S. No wrong..no right about it-just a choice however-I'm convinced if a law were passed requiring drivers to wear socks to match their Truck color..many would sing the laws praises..

I am leased to the company, but I have installed a dashcam for MY protection. It faces forward, sound turned off. I can't think of an instance where having it makes me guilty if in fact, I was innocent. But there are a lot of instances where it could prove you innocent, if they call you guilty!
My brother hauls a tanker in California. He was caught in a "Swoop-n-stop". That's where 3 vehicles position themselves to the right and left next to your cab, then the third vehicle cuts in front of you and slams on the brakes. You have nowhere to go, but hit the forward vehicle. Luckily, It was caught on dashcam by another vehicle. Brother got a no-fault, and three carloads of scammers were all caught. That's when I decided to get one. Have not had to use it yet, but have it....JUST IN CASE.
If I was a company driver and they wanted to record my off duty time, I would tell them to go to hell. That's invasion of privacy. I would then get a job with a company that does not try that crap. If your company is trying that, you deserve to be treated better. Don't stand for it.Radman Thanks this.
