I really don't care what you buy or use if you decide to use a GPS for routing. I do not push the RM here. I am simply here to provide support on the other thread and to resolve any issues.
I posted on this thread to try to clear up some misconceptions about maps on a GPS.
You expect perfect right out of the box. You will never get this. Maps are and never will be 100% at any given point in time.
Best GPS unit?

I mentioned how the maps are build into the system and that is the way it is for all GPS, if car or truck.
Garmin uses the HERE also, so any incorrect maps will also be on that unit. Cobra uses TeleAtlas. HERE and TeleAtlas are different in what is correct and what is missing. One might have an update to a road while the other does not.
Use what is available, keep current on updates to the software and make sure you have the latest maps as they contain all the current data to data. Not saying all is correct or not missing.
If you see something that is not right then by all means let me know so I can get it to the right department to be updated.
Maps from 2008 to current have come a long way for the Truck GPS. The data still has long way to go to contain all the current restrictions placed on by each state, overpasses, roads, etc.mattbnr Thanks this. -
Been in use about 3 yrs now... had a cobra before rand.. that was when cobra had a gel screen.
it didnt have truck routes.. the user had to enter the route.. everyone else seemed to like garmin at the time
