My fiance and I went through school together. We are looking to team. Does PTL hire teams and if so will they hire recent graduates on as teams after the company training?

Yes, PTL uses teams. I understand their team trucks are set up for teams as opposed to their solo trucks. I don't know what the difference is; maybe bunk beds and more storage.
Allen3072 Thanks this. -

That's what it is, they have double bunks for teams and they allow the driver to have shelving removed as needed but do require the driver to have the shop do any alterations so they can store whatever is removed and reinstall it if the team leaves, which I think is a perfectly reasonable request.Last edited: May 4, 2014

Allen, last Monday I was at my CDL school finalizing arrangements when I heard one of the staff comment on the number of recruiters contacting them for new grads that they've never heard from before. One of them was from PTL. When I got home I immediately submitted an online application and was contacted right away. The only hitch is I would have to wait 6-9 months for orientation because they don't have enough female trainers and they won't allow men to train female drivers.

PTL does phased training; for the phase 1 which is 5k miles after orientation, you'll be with a trainer. But for phase 2, 30k miles, they team up trainees, and yes if 2 people request it, they'll put them together.
Trucking companies love husband/wife teams... -
When I trained with Swift back on 04 I had a female trainer for 2 of the six weeks. Ck with them, they take new grads and don't seem to have a prob with male/female in the same truck.
