Hello All, new here,
The the trucking guild has always fascinated me, some of my family members are truckers themselves. I have never driven a truck before but I still wanted to be part of that community. My ultimate goal being a Hazmat Tanker. I know I can pass the written exams but the driving is what am a little worried. After careful consideration and research through different company sponsored programs (in the end was between Prime Inc, Millis, and Roehl), I decided (06-02-2014) to apply to the Prime sponsored CDL training. Once I filled the application online, I was given an application number and a Prime Inc contact number to get a hold of a recruiter. I spoke to one of the costumer service representatives and I was transferred to a recruiter named "Dustin". Unfortunately, at the time I received his Voicemail. I left my information. My question is how long does it normally take for a recruiter to contact a prospect student? Should I just wait on Primer or should I apply to as many other companies until one calls?
Thank You

Give your information to everyone who will take it! Take the best deal. Be careful with company sponsored training and remember that first year is very important. Best of luck!
-
Thanks sure will. Although I am still wondering how long it takes for recruiters to contact you
-
What other companies do you recommend if I live in Texas

Here is the number of my prime recruiter. He's pretty fast at returning calls. 417-521-3802. His name is Brett.

Take the company training but DO NOT LEASE A TRUCK from anyone. save your money and buy it yourself. If you cannot do this, you should not be an o/o but a company driver

PRIME is worth it. I am heading there as soon as my contract with my current company is up! Don't fall for the Steven's Transport sales pitch. I wasted 3 weeks trying to my DOT physical done with them and wanted medical records from an er visit when I was 8.
By the way, go get your own DOT physical done by your personal doctor before you go to any of these companies, it'll save a lot of headache and insurance will cover it usually. -
I second that!!!! I am going company.

Thanks redoctober83. I just have one question. Will this recruiter help me even though he wasn't assigned to me by the Rep Lady at Prime.

He should.
