I went to Roadmaster way back when... wonderful experience, great people. It was $5000 but I was never married to any company, had multiple job offers before class was done and was reimbursed my tuition costs by the company I worked took a job with.

Just dialed the number you gave me but I still got the Dustin Voicemail: " Hi you've reached Dustin at Prime In Recruiting. Am either on the phone or away from my desk. At the tone leave your name and contact number and I will get back to you"
-
That's strange seeing as how that number goes directly to Brett when I dial it. Plus it is after 4pm and they are gone for the day now.
sglooney316 Thanks this. -

-
maybe that is why. I will try tomorrow

In Texas, Millis Transfer is excellent with good paychecks.

The Prime recruiters are insanely busy. It can take 2-3 days for them to get back to you, and a lot of the recruiters do 4 10 hour days each week, so it can be three days before they even get your message. Call repeatedly. Every morning, and every few hours throughout the day. Show that you *want* the job.
Did you fill out the application on their web site? If not, do it ASAP.
Don't bother with a physical unless your state requires it to get the CDL permit. Most companies require you to go to a company approved clinic for your physical. Prime will have you see their on-site doctor on the first day of orientation, right after you pee in the cup.
And be sure to have your class A CDL permit in hand before you go to orientation, even if the company doesn't require it. It'll be a lot of pressure taken off of your shoulders during orientation.sglooney316 Thanks this. -
If their personal cars are as slow as their trucks it may take days just to reach the office. Should be required to use 4 ways at all times. Saving fuel is one thing. But poking along I 35/45 others in TX at 50mph all hours is dangerous. Training is supposed to be pretty decent. Would go with Millis if you have the chance. Get done and make some money a lot sooner.

To be honest with you I am surprised that you did not go with Roehl. They have a Texas regional position that will get you home frequently and pay about the same as prime. I went through their school up in Marshfield and it's real top notch training. A little fast paced but good teachers.sglooney316 Thanks this.

One of the reasons that I didn't go ahead with Roehl is that at the moment am low on cash and from what I read you have to provide your own lodging and other expenses, but if the Prime guys take too long I may contact Roehl. I will live in the car if I have to.
