I drive for Venture Express. A medium sized dedicated carrier. I drive on the International Paper account. Day cab...home daily and off weekends. The trucks are Volvo and Peterbuilt Eaton eight or ten speed manual transmissions. Some accounts are sleeper trucks, home every other night and off weekends. My cpm is .35 averaging 2300 to 2500 mpw. Is very laid back and I really enjoy out. My customers are almost all drop and hook, very light loads. Drop loaded trailer and bring back an empty. It works very well for me. Open fuel cards at, Loves or Pilot/Flying J.

Hey man just got back from orientation. Are you aware of the pay increase for truckload as of April 16th. Sounds like you have a good deal at Venture , if you get a chance look at increase on Internet. I know it still depends on miles but nice increase !! Be safe headed out two weeks with trainer then one week at new backing school in Cookeville, I will keep you posted
bigmikectn Thanks this. -
JBS, how about an update?

Big mike I got home this evening from the averitt backing/finishing school . The three instructors all have been with the company in excess of 25yrs or more . It was layed back but still got done with what was needed . They supposedly have cut down on backing accidents 61 percent. The instructors were darn nice guys , everybody had a good time ! I got a 2011 prostar , not a bad trk , pretty clean for the most part. Let me know how it's going at Venture ! I will keep you posted.
bigmikectn Thanks this. -
Congrats on getting your truck. That backing school is a great idea. All is well with Venture. Running over 2500 miles a week and enjoy this day cab life. 90% drop and hook. Deliver loaded and come back empty. My heaviest load so far was 30k lbs. Give us regular updates and call me, dude. I drive from 1pm to 1 am.
