I use a local glass dealer. usually replace every other year. I run in a lot of places where they get sandblasted after a while. I have never paid over $100 for a one pc curved 900 kw. of course that is my ooida deductible.

Very pricey for winshield replacement. Try calling your local winshield dealer before calling safelite. Would save you $200 or more.

For most stone chips, we have them repaired and have never had an issue. Our local glass vendor charges $40 for a repair and guarantees repairs for 1 year. If we need to replace that windshield within a year, he takes $40 off the price.

Most small chips can be fixed so you can hardly see where it was, but if it's right in the drivers forward view, we usually don't chance it. Basically I sit in the truck and if I'm looking at the hood, sky or way off to the side through the chip, I'll get it fixed. If I'm looking at the road, it has to be very minor where I'm comfortable that a repair will be nearly invisible.

They came to the house about 2 years ago and replaced my truck windshield. I don't know anybody local who does glass. KW runs specials on windshields but the issue is having to drive an hour an a half to either of them near me then who knows when they can do it? I despise KW dealers so much that I'd pay more for someone else anyway. Safelite scheduled a day, showed up when they were supposed to and had the job done in about an hour. I'll use them again. In fact there is a crack on pass side I already need another one just waiting for another slow down in freight.
