    Hi Boyd Drivers,

I am looking at Boyd and thinking of applying. I talked with a recruiter today, but forgot to ask a few things.

Is Boyd still keeping $400 out of your pay for a deposit of sorts?

What is the cost of buying your initial equipment (straps and such)?

What is the initial equipment requirements?

My home is in S.E. Indiana; what kind of miles should I expect?

    Thanks!

    Bill

Yes Boyd does keep $400 for a deposit on your truck but it's taken at $20 a week until they have the full amount.

I'll ask my bf about the initial equip costs and requirements next time I talk to him.

As for miles, I don't know what he's averaging now but I will say he run fairly hard. He's home most weekends when he wants to be (generally chooses to stay out if we are fighting lol).

Sorry for the delay :). Bf said the only equipment you are required to have is a bar and standard safety equip (hard hat, safety glasses, vest, and steel toe boots). Anything else is optional. They provide all straps and tarps.

Does Boyd reimburse for truck school and how much? Do they have a training program and how much do you get paid during training? How is home time? I'll be attending truck driving school in June.

Boyd does reimburse for school at $150 a mth. They do have a training program which is 4 wks in truck followed by 1wk additional securement training at $500 a wk. hometime is as good as you want it most of the time. Only once has my bf not gotten home when he wanted to.

I assume you mean the tuition reimbursement. It's $5000 I believe.

Boyd seems like a very good company to work for,
I just filled out a application for pre-hire for when I get out of school in 3 weeks.Recruiter was very informative and helpful. Any drivers out here I would like to hear how they are to work for.
