I hope they send me to the backing school. I'm used to 10 2 splits and still was bad with those.

Tell your recruiter you want to go , its real good
-
That's all I have to do? How much time does that add to training?
-
If your going out with a trainer , after road training you will go to the backing school for four days.
-
They might have you set up to go already , your recruiter can answer that. Good luck
-
I take it the backing school is at the same place as orientation? I don't care how much backing I practice with my trainer. I'll still probably ask to go to the school. Just becase that's my main hang up is backing that durned trailer up.
-
They have the school at four or five different service centers/ yards . Depends on where you live.

From Averitt's website:
Averitts Finishing School is a weeklong training course for truckload drivers going through the companys student program. Drivers who have recently graduated from an approved school or who have just a few months of experience over the past year are sent to one of the Finishing Schools located in Cookeville, Tenn., Lexington, Ky., Jackson, Tenn., or Decatur, Ala., after completing their road training from an Averitt driver-trainer. Students learn how to properly back their tractors and other detailed safety procedures related to equipment-handling. The Finishing School has been a prudent investment, as Averitt has seen a 60 percent decrease in backing accidents among student drivers since its inception a year ago.Flareblitz Thanks this. -
