Ignorance is putting a truck OOS for BS like that. Discolored airbrake hose ? Blue and red ? I have plenty of BLACK air brake hose.

I agree, don't let companies walk all over you.Safety said to get it fixed,I would have went right back to safety after mechanic said they'll fix it next week, next week never comes. From what im gathering the DOT let him go after the first inspection, ifs its such an issue,I would think the dot would have put him oos after the first level1.

Ok, then, show me where it's stated that brake lines are to be red and blue. If that's the case, there sure are a lot of OOS trucks out here.

That was a stupid reason to put someone oos.I have drove with a black air line and officers never said anything. As long as both lines are in working order what does it matter.Anyone know how many points was given to the op?

Both of the air hoses on my truck are black rubber with red and blue handles at the the glad hands. Never had a problem with inspections with that setup. I prefer the rubber hoses anyway. They are more durable than the cheap plastic ones. If have the black rubber air lines is an OOS violation, then every single truck at my company would be OOS.

I find it amazing how many drivers put out false information.

Obviously it isn't clear cause we all have black brake lines. Even on my new trailer. And every truck and trailer I have ever looked at. Why don't you elaborate a little bit or at least show us what you are talking about. I think you are the one that is confused.

    Joetro Thanks this.
