for $10 a strap,a driver crossing a scale like that is really stupid
-
I'd say that's entirely up to the DOT officer. As a general rule ANY sort of cut from the outside of the strap means the strap is garbage, but inline abrasion like that is up to the DOT officer. The one driver is right, straps are cheap.BigJls1 Thanks this.

Dont pull in to maryland scales

i woulnt use that strap, or even use it on my rig
-
I would just get another strap...u already know d.o.t loves flatbeddeers

If you threw another one right beside it you would be better off to take that one off. They will not give you a break on a bad one just because you have more than needed. I personally wouldn't cross a scale or even use it, not because it won't handle the load but because I don't want the harassment that could come with it, on the other hand I have seen straps in much worse shape than that, and the ones running them never seem to get caught. I ain't that lucky.
Skunk_Truck_2590 Thanks this. -
I've always kept my straps in the box, or wait.............that was before I got caught for unsecured load! In AZ, that strap would get you a ticket...I'd change it. Happy trails!
