Went thru one scale in KY today. Got green light. Not sure if anyone was in the house or not saw alot of inspecting going on. Got stopped last week before even pulling on scales. Company CSA scores high. DOT boy stops me. Asks if I'm carrying any firearms (was after that shooting of dot officer last week) told him truth, no. Asked if my wife was co-driver or passenger...said passenger. He asked if company knew she was supposed to be in there. Said yes, was reaching for the rider pass, figuring that would be next, but he asked to see log book. Gave it to him. He looked at it. Stopped on one day I drove 10 hours to make sure it was right. Looked disappointed. Handed back to me. Told me to jump on scales and be safe. Got green light. Was on my way.

A continual blitz ever since a tollway worker was killed and a state trooper was seriously injured by a driver on I-88 back in January.

That shouldn't even be legal.

Sad thing about this is you got no credit for a clean inspection. Had he found something wrong you would have gotten CSA points. They should either green light you or inspect you. That is BS to ask a bunch of questions then roll you through.grizzly Thanks this.

Bingo. It should be federally mandated that ANY TIME a DOT officer looks at your logbook, that he has to give you an inspection form saying you passed at least a Level 3. No matter how meager of a glance it is. Because you know #### well if there were something wrong, you'd get nailed. Twice I've had my logs looked at (PA and VT) without getting a Level 3. That's not right.
I worked for a job (non-trucking) that did 'evaluations' on you as an employee. You got 3 of these a month. If you scored above 90% on all three combined, you'd get a bonus ($400). Well, if they started watching you, they'd keep watching until they knew you did at least one thing wrong, and then count that as their 'evaluation'. It didn't matter that I did my job right the previous four hours. No 'evaluations' for all that time.6 Speed Thanks this. -
Yep. Company gives some kinda bonus, like 10 or 20 dollars for each clean inspection. Couldn't turn anything in so no money. Oh well what can you do? It is sad left a company with good csa scores to go to a training company with high csa scores cause a friend recommended them. Got more looks from DOT then I have with this company.
NavigatorWife Thanks this.
