Per diem is only a small amount that helps increase weekly pay..still keep track of nights spent in truck and tell your accountant..you have a much larger write off than the per diem covers.

    Well Joey got his wish!
As of 6-1-14 Cargo is paying Practical miles! I know some were complaining about being paid book miles but that is no more! :biggrin_25512:

They have several drop yards, including the home terminal in Claremont, NC, Winston Salem, NC, Rocky Mount, NC, Martinsville, VA, and Princeton, WV.

Glad they finally did it. If they made the switch a few months before I left I might still be there. Its a good thing though for everyone involved.

I wish you the best my friend.
Just remember to be tight as bark on an oak tree for the first year to learn what you need to live and you should do fine. Very smart not to burn any bridges in case you ever change your mind.

One thing I'd like to mention as a Cargo driver: Cargo is setup so most folks are home on the weekends. They have made some changes lately, , but they are primarily setup to run during the week.

I've been with Cargo for a year, straight out of truck driving school. They do what they say they are going to do. Very little #########. I have a good dispatcher. The maintenance shop is top-notch. All in all, a great company to drive for.

Wow, good for y'all. What (if anything) did they take away to compensate their loss?..

They haven't taken anything away..they have been slowly increasing pay and working on pre planning loads better.
