Got a York stand up on a Century N14
Changed out the clutch last week and all worked fine. Yesterday it seized up and broke the belt. Stopped and bought a new belt and took the clutch apart to see if it would loosen.
Put it back together and it worked fine for maybe 10 mins then burned the belt again. Now the clutch itself is moving freely but the pulley is stuck the magnet rotor.
What would cause this? Also the white cotton dampener is it for behind the pulley or underneath it?

CK. for AC. comp. being locked up? center shaft inside center of clutch, replace dryer an comp. with new not rebuilt unit for best life of AC.
-
Yeah I found a manual online. The center shaft and key were lined up. I believe the compressor itself is locking up.
-
When comp. is worn it will lock up when hot, best to replace with new comp. before it blows up an you have bits of comp. all threw the system.
-
They just don't make stuff like they used to anymore! This comp is about 8 months old!
-
May have been a rebuilt one, be sure to replace dryer at same time you change the new comp.,its just like the filter for the AC. system.
