I don't know if your still looking into it but, I had seen a billboard yesterday driving through Idaho, oil, sand and water drivers in North Dakota, Texas and some other state I didn't catch. It did have a number but, again, didn't catch it. The company is called MBI so, just google it and I'm sure you'll get the skinny on the oil field gigs.

Sam Adams? Bud Light? Dude, you live in Colorado, plenty of tasty breweries and you go with Sam Adams? Put it down, go to the store and get some Sierra Nevada for Gods sake.

I can offer some good insight on JBS Carriers. I left them about a year and a half ago and I worked for them OTR for about a year.

i thought the benefits were outstanding!!! Blue Cross/Blue Shield premiums were about $46 every 2 weeks for the family with a $500 deductible. They offered FSA (which is awesome) and it was great being able to go to the doctor and just swipe the prepaid/tax free credit card to pay for doctors visits and prescriptions. I believe there was a 60 or 90 day waiting period for it to go active, (not uncommon) but well worth the wait.

Orientation wasn't too bad. A couple of times I saw Dan's face turn red from (What I consider) stupid questions and war stories. He handled it very well overall and I personally complemented him on it. Breakfast buffet at the hotel before sunlight was pretty good, and they got Subway and Domino's for lunch. We were on our own for dinner (no big deal).

The physical lifting tests were a little much, (I thought at first) but during the medical evaluations it became very clear that some people haven't been to a doctor in years, if ever. Many were disqualified for Blood pressure issues and if they had just visited a clinic, the Dr probably could have gotten it under control. Some of those BP's they were reading off were borderline heart attack and they told them to sit, relax and they'll take it again. I don't think rubbing their ears and taking deep breaths helped much.

My truck number was 23329, (which oddly is a Hyrum number) but I was out of Greeley. I always had on time delivery, and at one point weekend dispatch starting calling me after I got a good load and took it off me. They had me repower another drivers load because he could not make on time delivery. They knew I was good and could get it done. After the 3rd weekend in a row they had me fix another drivers mistakes, I had enough of that BS and addressed it with Becky in Greeley. It was promptly addressed and never an issue again.

i read a lot of reviews with lots of company with drivers complaining about not getting miles. I HAVE NEVER EVER HAD THAT ISSUE ANYWHERE IN 20 YEARS WITH ANY COMPANY!!! Maybe I've just been lucky, but it worked like this: you may have 1,800 miles under your belt for the week and the trip you're on may not be delivered before payroll cut off, so you would have a head start for the next pay period and have about 3k on the following week. Payroll was available for view over the quailcomm in your cab if you liked.

I had some mechanical issues and this is ultimately why I quit. I was up in NJ parking at a truck stop and as I was backing into a parking place I heard a big bang. Got out and checked everything out and saw no problems. Finished backing into the space and noticed one of my drive axles was kicked way out (torque arm broke). No big deal, crap happens. I called into breakdown and explained what happened and OMG!!! I had to take pictures and send them in. The woman in breakdown insisted that I broke the truck, that there was no way it broke by itself. Told me to call safety, so I did. I explained to safety what happened and they said sounds mechanical to me. Called breakdown back told them what safety said and she stated "We'll see about that". Had to get towed to Pocono Peterbilt and sure enough the 2 screws that hold the torque arm to the frame were rusted from salt damage and just needed replaced (no other damage). Next day I get a call from the head maintenance guy (Don't remember his name) apologizing.

No big deal, crap happens. Several months go by and my truck starts smoking and getting crappy fuel mileage (DPF filter clogged). I'm in Florida and no terminal in sight and all I can say is she got mad because I wouldn't drive the truck from Florida to Greeley smoking. Went to KW and sure enough, it took them a week to sort it out and figure out the Diesel particulate filter was clogged (along with being busy). $3,500 repair bill, so clearly I'm not hallucinating. I get that it's cheaper to go through a terminal but Lakeland, Fl to Greeley, Co.? Come on now. I was screamed at by that witch and called names for the last time. Turned in my 2 week notice that day to HR. It was a new girl in HR and apparently they're supposed to pass it to management to try to talk me out of it. She didn't do it though and I slipped through the cracks. When I got to Greeley, HR got in trouble for not speaking to me sooner and tried to convince me to stay of which I declined. I told them I had made other commitments, but would like to leave on good terms in case I decide to ever come back. I also told them the only reason I was quitting was due to the witch in breakdown.

They gave me a bus ticket back to Jonesboro, Ar without incident and Becky asked me several times to stay (which I appreciated, but declined). Other than the incident with breakdown, I hated shuttling empty trailers to the beef plant. Most of the time when I got to Greeley I just wanted to be left alone and they could keep their $25 per trailer to shuttle. Overall, good company if they could fix the breakdown witch. I actually considered going back, but when I called they no longer hired out of Ar. or Fl. Oh well, other companies out there hopefully with similar or better results.

Oh and by the way, I was flown from Memphis to Denver. Never saw any stretch limo, just a JBS shuttle van..

Maybe you should have read some other threads and post before you wasted your time writing all of this. The main problem with JBS is that they changed just over a year ago. The company you knew, no longer exist.

I had heard on the cb one day that they "laid off drivers that lived east of the Mississippi", I believe it was. I started to read quite a few of them, but figured I'd just throw my story in there. I wasn't about to read 718 pages.

Which layoff was that? There were two. First, they laid off the entire SouthWest regional fleet; this was maybe a year ago. Then, starting last January, they started laying off drivers that did not live 150mi from a plant or off I80 or I5 (I'm sure there might also be another area as well). I was told I was in the first round of OTR driver layoffs that numbered 100 drivers. Kind of curious how many they actually laid off. I have noticed over the last 2 months I only see their trucks in certain areas now, on I15 and I80 mostly. I wouldn't be surprised if the Brazilians give up and shut it down over the next year or two, they have become a total joke. It's a shame really, they had so much potential.

you must be joking to think JBS is shutting down. They have more $$ then you can imagine. Even if the trucking side is a big loss they can write that part off. I heard they were trying to get this guy back only known as ' Beerslave' I guess ever since they got rid of him its been all down hill. The only plus is there is always a lot beer in the refrigerator in the drivers lounge.

Beerslave must of had one to many again. I believe he meant the whole South East Region, and We have plenty drivers from Georgia still in the OTR and or being hired from the area so the East of the MS thing is another myth. There was tons of people in Orientation this week so. Guess from wherever they do hire. They keep them coming in. Also from the meeting we just had. Seems like all the numbers are up. Ontime percentage, Fuel mileage, and even companies asking us to do more loads for them. So something is working.
