I've been told the key to passing sleep apnea tests is to NOT tell the sleep study center that you drive truck for a living. A company I worked for last fall had 5 drivers sent to the sleep study center. 4 drivers told them they were truck drivers and the fifth told them he was a job site based equipment operator, technically true since we did only operate the CO2 trailers when we got to the customer location. Guess which ONE passed and who didn't?

Does a heart surgeon take a sleep study test to make sure he needs a sleep apnea machine so he isn't fatigue for surgery? How about a pilot? A surgeon in general? This is a bunch of malarkey! I think I just might Sue the FMCSA for not making this mandatory for all CDL holders. You can just stero type bigger people like this. This is rediculous!
