    Agreed. The only way to learn is to jump in with somebody. Honestly, the best learning tool would be to work with a trucking company for a year or two and learn the business as a carrier first. Learn what lanes are the most lucrative, the lanes that the carriers are desiring etc.... Also, learning as a carrier you will have gain much more respect for the trucking companies than you would just joining some broke #### brokerage shifting papers around figuring out how to nickel and dime for every red cent. Most big brokerages will start you out today around 20-25% commission on your sales. There are some companies offering 60 and 70% giving you the option to work from home, but they will most likely only hire you if you have an adequate amount of business already built up. Whatever you do........don't sign a non-compete if you go to work with a company and plan on doing your own thing soon after.
