I'm gonna put in a good word for TQL cause I know they read this stuff and I'd like to haul another great paying load. TQL - sometimes they work out ok, sometimes they don't. LoL

agreed completely. we haul for them once every couple months.

every broker Ive hauled for is a one for one basis. its up to us to ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS to get all the info.

The way I see it that's the only way i can ever utilize them - one off loads. Here's where I'll give CHR credit for where it's due. When they (CHR) post loads on their own internal load board you can be sure it's an actual load. If you see multiples of the same load on it you can again be certain they exist. Do a good job posting pick and delivery times also. You see what that does is it allows to really let a carrier take a close look at what CHR does and make some plans on their freight. Which has the possibility of creating a win, win for both parties.

The TQL method seems inefficient and haphazard way to cover freight. It's funny how within a couple of minutes posting a truck in some markets the first number to pop up on my cell is that familiar Ohio number of TQL's ending with 2600. Sometimes it will be 4 or 5 different times from different TQL agents in less than a couple of minutes sometimes on the same load. CHR never does that. In fact they rarely seem to ever call on posted equipment even in a tight market. Just an observation. There's always something to be learned and improved on. If TQL didn't have such bad habits posting false loads they might be someone I'd look to for more than just one off freight.

I haul for TQL , ask the right questions and you wont have a problem. Not just with TQL but all brokers. I ask alot of questions and if I get the vibe that theres uncertainty or more problems than I care to deal with, I will not take the load.
I personally dont think theyre that bad.

TQL is shady. Period. I don't care how much money they're paying I will not haul a load for them ever again. I had to cancel a load with them last week (my load inbound cancelled) and the broker from TQL first demanded that I deadhead to get his load and when I refused acted like a two year old yelling at me. When TQL cancelled loads on me 4 times in the past ON THE DAY OF PICK UP I was extremely upset but didn't treat them unprofessionally. Also, it seems like it's always something goofy with their loads, blind shipments, load says loading in one city but it's really another, etc. Their are thousands of brokers so I'm not going to do business with these dirtbags.

I have never had the kind of problems with either CH Robinson or Coyote that I've had with TQL.

Have you folks actually READ the TQL agreement??? They require you to waive ALL rights, protections, and remedies provided by Federal Law... if they later "determine" that there was a claim or issue with a load you previously ran for them... say, 6 months ago, they can "recover" that "claim" from the run you just did for them... and, oh yeah, since you waived ALL of your rights, they don't have to show you ANY evidence of said claim, you are NOT permitted to contact the shipper, receiver, bond company or anyone else to verify that there actually WAS a claim... I lined out the offensive portions of their agreement... they refuse to qualify me as a carrier despite 16 years of on time, claim free experience... all because I refuse to be held hostage by their terms... you're MUCH better off not doing business with them.

They are trained to post a load in every city within 150 miles of the actual loading city. So if the actual load is "Cincinnati - New York City" and you post a truck within the matrix of their load then your DAT board looks like this........

    Cincinnati - NYC Ext. 10101
    Indianapolis - NYC Ext. 10101
FT Wayne IN - NYC Ext. 10101
Columbus OH - NYC Ext. 10101
Detroit MI - NYC Ext. 10101
Cincinnati - Newark NJ Ext. 10101

What kind of rate do you need on that?

    Me: $4.00/mile bro.
