Where is everyone #3

Jumbo when you start your new gig, This coming week or the following week?
Called an old friend of mine last week. Found out he left Perkins and is now working with Barnhart crane in Memphis
Says he loves it there.

 

I haul my last load for Transport next Tuesday. I unload on Wednesday morning down in Chicago then run back to Milwaukee to turn truck in and start with DST on Thursday.

 

Again Congrats and good luck with the new gig..

 

I am looking forward to it, not that I hate working at Transport. They are a good company run by nice people that has treated me very well. That being said I am looking forward to the new challenges of trying something different.

 

That is part of life, trying to learn new things and better one's self

 

Ok what happened now?

 

They forgot about a job and then expected me to pull out a miracle. Called me 4 hours before a job that was 3.5 hours away and wasn't even loaded yet. The rig had to wait and they were in major hot water about it. Bad thing is I had been expecting it for three days and calling everyday just to get the blow off from them about it until it was a major #### up then they tried to blame it on me, we went rounds in a 5 hour meeting yesterday about them laying the blame at my feet. I guess they got the message and couldn't find another carrier in town as we are lined up for ten loads over the weekend.

 

Gotta love it. Hey Bob when is the job starting. Next week. Are you sure?
Thought it was in 2 days.. No it's next week. Ok. 2 days later. Hey where are your trks. we are waiting for them.
Oh the job that starts next week is today??
Well yea, Sorry I asked you and you said next week.. So I booked my trks.. You did what? we need them like now.

Only took AR until 4 pm to issue my permit I ordered at 4 pm yesterday. Stupid thing is I could have told them the route so why all day?????

 

I knew I wasn't the only one that remembered that. As they say, the proof is in the pudding, or is it in the past?
