Besides on days you sit you get no per diem if you claim it thru the company....... but do if you claim at end of year per my trucking accountant.

Same as everyone else's sixteen cents. Out the hand full of company's I've been at this is the highest I've ever made on per diem. I used to only get seven cents back in the day.

on the w2 taxable gross was a smaller figure than what was paid into SS. Think those deductions(FICA etc) from your check come off the top then per diem is accounted for..

No per diem is paid separately as a separate pay. and if they do tax off the higher amount how would you be saving the "reason" they pay per diem is supposed to be so you pay less taxes and that wouldn't be the case if they Tax you off the top first

I say if you like per diem then good for you. yes you get bigger weekly checks but at the end of the year your gross is less.

How the hell is it asking for audit? If I'm away from home for 300 days a year and my logs show it. And sni only pays a partial amount of the $59 a day I'm owed them Dam straight I'm collecting the remaining balance. Also theses drivers need to be itemizing there returns. So many drivers just do a 10 40ez and loose out what they can claim. My w2 shows my per diem and when my account does my per diem that is out plays out. 18 years no audit. Not changing what u do.

Per diem is based on days away from home. If I'm sitting away from my home for my job Yep still per diem.

    59.00 a day x .80 = 47.20 that's all you can claim.
