I recently moved to Indianapolis and although I heard great things about the city I never heard anything about the large trucking companies and just how popular the city was for trucking schools and companies. Needless to say I kept seeing "Celedon Now hiring" Free CDL... etc and I finally gave them a call and while the conversation sounded promising I questioned it after I hung up. I questioned the pay agreement. (.17/cpm team drivers) + (avg 5-6k/mpw) = (850.00$) correct? After talking to numerous people they all said the same thing "DON'T GO, DON'T GO" I guess my question is.. "is celedon a good company for team driving" and "is the pay what's promised"?

    .17? That can't be right.

.17 would be for all miles driven by both drivers, so .34 per mile driven by each driver if both drove equal miles.

That would/should be starting pay, and it would get better with time.
And that is really good starting pay.

    Good is a subjective term.

A lot better companies in Indy.

Anyone who is anyone has a yard there.

Be sure and do yourself justice by exploring thoroughly.

That american furniture on the bypass has some nice volvos on their new paved lot.

I'd take a look at them. Seems they are expanding.

Celadon isn't horrible, they certainly aren't the greatest, but they certainly aren't the worst either. And Celadon seems to "expand" every few months or so, buying up financially faltering companies. The equipment is decent, and I've not heard that many complaints. Still a mega, but ya gotta start somewhere.

Celadon has a nice dedicated team route to laredo and back to Indy.
    That's a nice easy trip.
Swing by the house if need be.
Better deal for you than most.

    But do that homework.

    I've never worked for Celedon.

I want to interject one statement, though; if I may; every Celedon driver I've ever met has been well put together, kind, willing to help others, but above all professional.

I just started with American Furniture Warehouse in Gilbert, Az. If you already have a license and some experience and a good safety record and work history, they are a top-notch Private Fleet. They put us in a 2015 KW T680, governed at 75mph, with no idle restrictions. They pay 48cpm (split) hub miles, which means Every mile the wheels turn. The accessorial pays are good. ($15 per hr. for any activities like orientation, meetings, training, pee tests, renewal physicals, detention, etc.) The benefits are good, we're told to expect 5500 miles per week. And it's not a b.s. OTR Irregular-route For-Hire Contract Carrier sticking it to you.. BTW, did I mention that I left Celadump to work here..

You can make more money at other companies. We work at US Xpress .48 CPM(.24 cpm split), making $1,000 - $1,500 gross. They hire drivers with no experience. Whatever company you go with....get on a dedicated account. That's where the consistent $$$ is.
