You should NOT be using the cruise and thus the Bendix System, on ice, snow or any slippery condition. The Bendix is not a threat unless the cruise is engaged.
What is the "BENDIX" system?

My truck has slammed on the brakes with the cruise off several times. Overpasses will occasionally do it. While passing another truck with shadow from trailer setting it off. Turning right around a bend with cars in next lane waiting to turn left. Cruise was off each time. In slippery conditions each incident could have ended poorly for someone as braking was applied hard for just long enough to loose traction.

This is an AUTOMATIC firing. Please don't do this. You will be fired and your DAC report will say you were fired for gross misconduct: willfully destroying or tampering with company equipment. Good luck getting another job with that on your DAC report.jeepnut_nh Thanks this.

16 people a day die in car accidents with big rig trucks. Google it. 16 tragedies a day on the news played over and over again. Like Tracy Morgan etc. They have to do something to appease the populace. Expect more and more and more regulations to come down. One day we will look back on 2014 as the day when there were not many regulations. "Oh the good old days of 2014 when truckers didn't have all these regulations we do now." Trust me that day will be coming.

And maybe 1 or 2 are the fault of the CMV driver.
