So I just got scheduled for an interview for fedex freight drivers apprentice program. I was curious if anyone else has been through the program? Hows the pay? Hows the work? They told me it would be freight city driver once I graduate from the apprentice program. Anybody else go this route? I'd love to hear from you.

you will love it. It is a awesome program that covers you soup to nuts and everything in-between. My advice is simple, be SERIOUS, pay ATTENTION, listen to everything, and you will learn a lot about yourself and driving. I had over 2 decades of driving straight truck (B), and i have walked away with oodles and oodles of knowledge from my instructors, and learned more in weeks than i have in decades.............good luck and see you out there

while you are in education, you will work the dock. no biggie. my house is usually busy and crazy, so the time goes by fast. now that i am in my own truck and route, i hardly see the dock, but i am not beyond jumping on a forklift and helping out as needed. do whatever it takes, and you will do well

Not sure how they do it at any other barns but dispatch sends you were they want you to go at the time you start. But you might work into a route in time.

Do you want to work during the day and with costumers or do you want to go from terminal to terminal and not see any customers? Day is city and night is road.
