Ok, so here is my situation. I recently graduated from a trucking school in fontana. I was browsing from companies that hire newbies like me. Seems to me there's only otr positions available. There's this local company called "gardner trucking" that called me and said they will hire rookies. So I applied, passed the road test, was sent to do a drug test, physical and pat test. They told me after the results I will be called for orientation. I don't want to sound desperate, but does that sound like good news?
Will I get hired?

What's a pat test? You did the road test so that's a good sign. You passed the physical now all they're waiting for is the drug test results. That comes back negative they'll call you.I assume they did your background check first didn't they?

as long as it's not western express(lol) you should be good. They do have a make shift terminal in Fontana(western)that is

Pat is the physical abilities test. But yeah, they checked my h6 dmv printout and backround

They said I will be doing line. North and south California only. Sometimes Phoenix and vegas

Sounds good; most companies won't give you a "yes" until the drug tests result is complete.
Gardner is a logistics company; you should do good there.ch1959 Thanks this. -
Would you mind sharing some info about the truck school?
What truck school did you attend?
Was it a good experience?
How much did you pay?
How long did it take to finish?
What was your trucking experience going into school?
Do you feel like you learned a lot and got your monies worth out of it?
Would you do it again at the same school if you could do it over? -
I can't offer much here except to say that I see Gardner trucks all over the southwest. Most companies want you to have otr experience because you then have some driving history they can show to their insurance company/underwriter. To answer your question, that's good news if you really need just a local job. But have they told you yet what and how they're paying you? That may be the deciding factor in determining whether it's good news or not. few local jobs will pay as well as otr.
Good Luck to you111ch1959 Thanks this. -
You'll hear back from them in the morning my guess will be once the drug test results are in and may even want you to start tomorrow or Tuesday.Because companies aren't going to pay for your physical and drug test if they don't plan on hiring you.But be prepared to start immediately.
