we normally get the phone numbers but sometimes can still be a pain to get them to do something, calling dispatch and having dispatch call the store normally puts a fire under their arse.

I love that the lines of communication are so open and forthcoming.
It's like a secret organization where we are all on a need to know basis, and they don't think that we need to know anything that would make our jobs easier.
Until it is too late. -
yeah i agree. i keep telling my dl it would make my job alot easier if i knew the actual window for delivery/pickup times. i probably wouldnt refuse so many lol
fr8monkey Thanks this. -
Me too.
That's Plus-1 for you.
They are SO afraid that we will use the entire window(s) to avoid more miles.
After all, we all want less miles each week. -
Or getting CSR and dispatch all over my arse to make SURE I get to my appointment on time. Arrive 30 minutes early to check in at the secretary's desk (small business).
"I'm here for my 8:00 appointment to pick up a load. I'm with Swift."
The secretary looks at me as if she'd just bit into a rotten apple. Says nothing. Stands up and walks back to an office door.
"Swift's here. Without an appointment .... AGAIN!!!!" -
I had to do that at an El Paso store. Person in receiving refused to tell the manager I was there because she was in a meeting. She showed up at the dock less than 5 minutes after I called the DC apologising for making me wait.
-
yep they dont want to piss off the dc who can get them in plenty of trouble
Overall I have had little issues in the past few months though with the stores. -
Reminds me of the time that the forklift person at a Walmart didn't want to accept a blitz load that I was to drop and then go home for Thanksgiving. After some discussion and getting her name, the store General Manager and 2 assistant managers stopped me as I was turning out of the lot. LOL...they kept apologizing for her refusal to take the load. They signed for it, cranked my landing gear down, and gave me a $50 gift card for my trouble!
fr8monkey Thanks this. -
now thats pretty awesome
