If you only have a learners permit, I believe you said, you can not drive by your self you have to have an instructor with you until you take all the test and get a full blown CDL. Get caught your in deep trouble.

Not really. You have to have a CDL holder next to you. Doesn't have to be an instructor.

That would make him/her an instructor, nobody said he had to be a licensed instructor. Maybe I should have he had to have adult supervision with him.

If you only have a permit.......It does not matter who is in the truck with you. If you are pulling a loaded trailer you are in violation of the law. Now here is the tricky point. No contract to do anything that is illegal is enforceable. Therefore he doesn't have to pay you. However, if he intentionally used that to avoid paying you he has committed fraud. Finally, if you knew that he was hauling commercially at the time you were driving then the two of you are guilty of a criminal conspiracy. If you push the issue, you could end up in jail.

There is no law against stupid, but there should be.

The trailer can be loaded, there's nothing wrong with that. The question becomes when it is used in the commission of a paid freight.

Schools will often have water in a tanker trailer, chunks of concrete on a flatbed, etc. The difference being a school vs. Paid load.

Yes. The trailer can be loaded but not for pay. My error in phrasing. Thank you for correcting me.

I am still not understanding what the OP is about. Are you expecting to be paid daily? Sorry, I have been working a lot and am exhausted.

    Excuse me wooly, and nightgunner.
But I fail to see why it can't be paid freight? I trained under similar circumstances. IF his employer is training him for his A license. Why can't it be paid freight.

aggree, if he has his temp cdl premit to drive there is nothing wrong with driving as long as there is a cdl holder in the seat next to him.
