After my man told his fleet manager for a straight 48 hours to find him a relay (due to promised home time and a huge family commitment) and ultimately being told no at the last minute, my man came unglued and cussed out the 3rd person that he was transferred to talk to. He thinks that he is probably going to get fired this week.... God I hope not! I hope they chalk it up to him being upset and stressed and will give him another shot. We cannot afford for him to be without a job!!!!:biggrin_25512:

He probably won't get fired if its the first time he's flown off the handle.

and don't spam multiple boards with the same post. Once is enough, we get it.

    Sorry your plans were trashed.

This sort of situation is fairly common in this business.

Good Drivers are too valuable "to let-go" over such things.

Rolling the truck over into the comedian would be more like something a Driver gets fired over.

    Don't be worried.

Unfortunately, trucking is a job that has more than its fair share of disappointments. I had plenty of them in my early days. As a newer driver, he will just need to accept it and shake it off for now. Try to keep a positive attitude, gain more experience, then get hired on with a carrier where these situations will not occur. If you are concerned about how this may effect his current job, then talk to him and calm him down. Have him speak to his fleet manager and smooth the situation over. Missing a time off date is bad enough, so do not let it escalate into reduced earnings as a result of tension between him and his company. Driving while angry is not a good combination.

Calling or speaking in person would be better than via email. More personal this way. Being humble even when you were wronged by someone makes a difference.

I guess I wouldn't apologize but yet;I can empathize that he is fairly new..Still in this biz..it is not wise to let folks just walk over you at will as..they will then do it all the time.. I know..it's confusing. Welcome to Trucking..:) Stop worrying..it will be OK..I yell at my dispatcher everyday;and I do 3-day runs.. Again..it will be all good........................................
